Gene Hall, a Santa Cruz, California native, grew up in the beach, boardwalk, and pier area. Early adventures led to long safaris. With his first car, he explored north and as far south as Baja, Mexico. Hilarious adventures with friends. Then two months after turning 18, he flew to Hawaii for three months after earning money as a busboy. He would become one of surfing’s legends, with adventures that followed in the coming years. Marriage to his beautiful girlfriend, and the birth of his first son, leading him to emigrate with his new family to Australia and more exciting adventures. Residing in New South Wales Byron Bay area for a year and a half, crossing the Nullarbor Plain and moving to Perth, Western Australia, to start a restaurant. The family stayed in the west for 16 and a half years. They were the first Yanks to settle in Margaret River town in the South West. Eventually, wanting to live back In America, they moved again, this time staying on the Island of Kauai. Gene and his wife began riding Harley Davidson for over ten years, as they could not keep on windsurfing. They retired from the roads when traffic got too dense. They still live on Kauai.
